Ivan is best known for the Ghost Hunter books, originally published by Scholastic. The books were later adapted for children’s BBC TV ( by Zenith North) and broadcast from 2000-2002. There were three series made in total. Two 90-minute films were also made for television.
His picture books include The Lazy Giant (Oxford University Press) and The Golden Cage (Andersen Press). His Adventures of Zot the Dog books were published by Young Puffin and then turned into a 13 episode animated series for CITV.
Many of Ivan Jones’ poems have been commissioned for BBC Schools’ Radio, or have featured in collections such as I Love You Football and I Wanna Be Your Mate (ed. Tony Bradman) and Spooky Poems (Scholastic). He was the co-compiler of ‘Goodnight, Sleep Tight’, an illustrated anthology of 365 poems (Scholastic).
Ivan is married to the author Mal Lewis Jones. Their eldest daughter, Lara Jones, was a children’s illustrator. They have two other children – Levin and Jess.
